The Magical powers of the Bakuchiol plant
I discovered this amazing plant a few years ago while doing what I always seem to be doing- googling skin care ingredients. Since I am a redhead with sensitive skin retinols and I never got along. My skin would turn red and flake, which would exacerbate my need to pick- not pretty. So, I started searching for an alternative. What I came across was Bakuchiol, pronounced “buh-koo-chee-all”, which is an ingredient derived from the psoralea corylifolia plant, aka the "babchi" plant, and is being coined "the natural form of retinol". Even though the babchi plant has no structural resemblance to retinoids it functions quit similarly. They both help with fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, firmness and elasticity. However, unlike retinols bakuchiol won't cause dryness and irritation. YAY! If you have sensitive skin like I do then this plant is for you.
