About Me

Hi! My name is Melissa and I am a 43 year old business owner here in Denver, CO. I am a licensed esthetician and have a diploma from Formula Botanica in Organic Skincare Formulation.

I have always dreamed of creating my own skincare line and I'm very excited to share it and my knowledge of skincare with you. I also struggle with Endometriosis and for every purchase made $1 will be donated to the Endometriosis Foundation of America.

I know, I know, how many skincare blogs (blog, not my fav word- I call it News here) and brands do we need?! There are A LOT, trust me I should know. I am the queen of googling! Researching ingredients, the latest brands, who's using what, how and why is one of my passions, it never gets old. I am your gal when it comes to skincare knowledge.

I love trying new products, but believe in using real, supportive, active ingredients that aren't synthetic. It's disappointing to come across a product that you think is "clean", and then look at the ingredients and see a bunch of chemicals listed. And why use so many ingredients? Filler ingredients, in my opinion, are not necessary.

I admit I was a product junkie and would try anything that was trendy, or new but my skin was never happy.

A few years ago I woke up with what I thought was a zit under my eyebrow. That "zit" wound up traveling down to the corner of my eye, and then eventually to the corner of my mouth. I tried everything you can think of to get rid of it and was eventually diagnosed with dermatitis. After researching it myself, I found that what I had looked like Perioral Dermatitis ( you can read more about this fun skin issue in the News section), which is something I'm likely to be stuck with forever. I had broken down my skins natural protective barrier and my skin was screaming STOP. The more I did the worse it got. My skin needed a vacation, so I took it on one.

What I learned was the less ingredients I used, and the more supportive the ingredients were, the better my skin looked. That lead me to start experimenting with making uncomplicated products with active ingredients that are designed to support the skin. And once my skin healed I was able to reintroduce my line of products to it and build back up that broken down barrier.

Everyones skin is different and what works for me may not work for you, but my hope is that you will love JUST Skincare as much as I do! And if you don't that's okay! I am here to help find what works for you! You can think of me as your skincare helper.
